Abstract: Acoustic metamaterials that are based on the effect of arrays of single resonators gained a lot of interest in the research community during the last decade. In the literature the focus often lies on refining the acoustic models used to predict the behavior of the metamaterial or on new designs, with beneficial properties such as broadband effects. Furthermore, optimization techniques or generative artificial intelligence is used to create metamaterial structures computationally. The outcome of these optimization techniques is often a set of geometrical or physical parameters that describe the metamaterial. These metamaterials can then be manufactured by for example additive manufacturing. For this the parametrized descriptions still needs to be translated into a real geometry. In this publication the possible steps from automatically getting a parametrized metamaterial description to a 3D printable geometry are summarized.
