Abstract:
We report on numerical simulations of acoustically excited bubbles. The simulations are performed with OpenFOAM sovling the Navier Stokes equations. The bubbles are assumed to be filled with non-condensable gas, the sourrounding liquid is compressible. The finite volume method is used to capture the interface. The bubble is positioned in a standing acoustic wave, implemented via the initial and boundary conditions. We report on current topics and challenges when simulation jet formation in acoustically excited bubbles.
