Abstract:
This work addresses the complexities of verification and validating acoustic solutions of analytical, numerical, and experimental techniques through reliable datasets. Recognizing the challenges, numerous researchers in the computational acoustics field have expressed the need for common benchmark cases and datasets. This community call marks the start of a long-term project dedicated to deploying such benchmarks across the entire computational acoustics domain. The proposed database is web-based, designed to facilitate the submission of cases and results by researchers, emphasizing openness and accessibility. The overarching goal is establishing a platform that promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing while ensuring long-term sustainability. This initiative aims to provide a common reference point for the community, facilitating the validation and advancement of newly developed techniques in computational acoustics.Recently, this initial benchmarking initiative of the EAA-TC Computational Acoustics joined forces with the “Fachausschuss Strömungsakustik” of the DEGA and the AAA to take it to the next level and make it fit for the needs of the scientific community today. This year, a fluid-structure-acoustics interaction benchmark on human phonation was added to the database. The database is accessible under https://zenodo.org/communities/eaa-computationalacoustics. Contributions of datasets and benchmark cases are highly welcome. If accepted, the EAA advertises the contributions accordingly.
